Chemo here I come...!

Finally got the results from the histology report - which showed that the other bit of suspect tissue removed by the surgeon was also cancerous. The result from my PET scan last Thursday showed that my hip is clear but the nodule which first showed up on my pre-surgery CT scan is also an active tumour, which explains why my tumour marker is still rising.

The fact that there have been 3 known lung tumours tips the balance from surgery back to high-dose chemo - I am booked in to start 2 cycles of normal dose chemo this Friday (on a day case basis, so no overnight stay) with high dose chemo to start thereafter.

I was gonna say thats another summer missed, but looking outside......

Hey Nige, I spoke with Addis the other night, work shy git, he's left the RAF and is training to be a BA pilot, he'll be doing US and Africa routes (to see other long necked creatures!), so there are two more places for you to avoid once all this crap is over! I also went past Forest Street in Shepshed last week for old time's sake. I felt cold just looking at the place. I nearly stopped, went in and shouted "Nige, can I have a lift to training?", up the stairs, but thought I would get little reponse......no change there then. Only kidding, fond memories of piling into the purple Mini for Addis and I to further our sparkling football careers (Lufbra 3rds) whilst you went reading spotter books in t'library!! Nostalgia ain't what it used to be. Will get a long enough break from work to come in and see you soon.

I'll be safe - I only ever get to fly Thomas Cook. Shepshed...I remember it well. Isn't that when you used to say "Busy today, mate?" when I walked into the kitchen each morning. Pity bout your football careers - I'm still dining out on my debut for Lufbra 5ths!

Didn't I once meet a couple of girls from shepshed ?

Perhaps some memories are not so fond ?

I'm not sure they were girls Robert. Wildebeast more like. If I remember rightly Nige, you were the only professional at Lufbra, didn't you get paid to ref one half then play the other?? Keele University, 1923.

Talking of professionals brings me back to those two girls from shepshed....I am sure they were paid for what they did .....?!??!?!?

Girls.....more like 45 year old cleaners!!!!

As for Lufbra turds....I only remember Sads ever being a linesman on a very wet day!

Todger, Hope all goes well. Let us now when we can visit.

It was the wettest day since wet was invented. When I was bought on, the ref blew for full time early cos we were about 6-0 up. I didn't even touch the ball. Could have been worse, I might have spent the afternoon with Barney Stubble.

Pete was the only professional substitute bench cleaner/warmer in the history of the game. The fact that he didn't touch the ball was a major factor in being 6-0 up!!

..and Ted used to practice his dribbling skills on Barney!

I was in the first team in the bar afterwards, though!
